I am Sumeet, a 27 yr old information security enthusiast, crazy about Coffee, iPod, everything mac, travelling, consuming rss and eating. I work for a large consulting firm where I usually rant about security best practices. People often call me insensitive and rude.
I earn my living trying to suggest ways to secure data and information flow, and ensuring organizational compliance to various security standards. I strongly support data privacy and anonymous communication, and have been following EFF and TOR closely for quite some time.
Tools of Trade
iBook G4: I use an old skool (read old and cheap) pimped up iBook G4 with a lot of memory and disk space for almost everything I do at home. It helps me stream music to my iphone, serve as an alarm clock and doubles up as a heater in winters. I have considered upgrading to Mac Book Pro, but am still waiting for its prices to hit sub $1000 mark. Till then, I will let my fingers hit hard on apple keyboard, strain my eyes on an external 20″ monitor, damage my wrist on mighty mouse and store pr0n on 500 GB WD drive.
iPhone 8 GB: One of the things I resisted for almost 6 months before forcing someone to buy it for me. It’s practically one stop shop for all my needs when I am too lazy to switch on a computer: check email, consume rss, browse Internet, update FB and twitter, watch movies and access my media temple account.
iPod 20 GB: I use this to listen to music while I drive 35 Kms across Delhi to reach my workplace. It connects to my car stereo through Monster’s iCar Play
iPod 1 GB: I don’t know where it is, and why I have it.
